Gizmo Warm-up

In the Cell Types Gizmo, you lot will employ a light microscope to compare and

dissimilarity dissimilar samples. On the Mural tab, click on the Elodea leaf .

(Turn on Show all samples if you can't detect it.) Switch to the MICROSCOPE

tab to observe the sample as it would announced under the microscope. Past

default, this microscope is using 40x magnification.

1. Drag the Coarse focus slider until the sample is focused besides as possible. Thenorthward, amend

the focus with the Fine focus slider. What do you run across? I see a lot of cells all grouped

together.

2. Select the 400x magnification. If necessary, conform the fine focus. Now, what do you see?

I see one cell very conspicuously and I can also see that it has other green things in information technology.

The individual chambers you encounter are cells, the smallest functional unit of an organism.
